I want to share a few tips for the class. Concentrate on the following: (1) keep the vowels as pure as possible remembering to open your mouth (2) speak slowly rather than tring to speed up too fast after you have conquered phrases and vocabulary (3) dominate the flow of the encounter with the patient as you would in English (4) do not be so analytical as you converse with a patient (5) read read read in Spanish (6) read and speak for comprehension more than syntax or grammar.
